Indian Stock Market Sees Significant Activity on May 6

The Indian stock market witnessed substantial trading activity on May 6, with the Sensex and Nifty indices recording gains. At close, the Sensex rose 940.73 points or 1.22 percent to 77,958.52, while the Nifty increased by 298.15 points or 1.24 percent to 24,330.95.

Among the notable transactions, Swati Agarwala sold 1.05 lakh shares (1 percent stake) of Astonea Labs at Rs 166 per share. Astonea Labs, a Haryana-based company engaged in contract manufacturing of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, saw its stock price rise by 7 percent to Rs 172 at close.

Akalpya India Equity Fund acquired 50,000 shares (0.06 percent stake) of Gravity India at Rs 16.51 per share. The Mumbai-based company, which deals with manufacturing synthetic furnishing fabrics, saw its stock price remain stable at Rs 16.51, a 5 percent increase.

Mathew Cyriac purchased 20 lakh shares of NITCO at Rs 95.05 per share. NITCO, a Mumbai-based tiles and marble manufacturer, saw its stock price rise by 6 percent to Rs 100 at close.

In the Purple Wave stock, Mansukhbhai Kurjibhai Khunt sold 85,000 shares (0.92 percent stake) at Rs 126 per share, while Bhavna Hitesh Patel bought 55,000 shares (0.59 percent stake) at Rs 126.34 per share. Shreni Shares offloaded around 1.62 lakh shares (1.75 percent stake).

IndiaNivesh Renaissance Fund sold 2.36 lakh shares (0.55 percent stake) of Autoline Industries at Rs 80.50 per share. The Maharashtra-based auto engineering firm saw its stock price decline by 1.42 percent to Rs 78.40 at close.

Krishival Foods saw significant activity as India SME Growth Fund – Series 2 bought 30,000 shares at Rs 115.08 per share.

Lastly, Kotyark Industries saw a notable transaction with promoter Bhaviniben Gaurang Shah selling 72,000 shares (0.70 percent stake) at Rs 408.34. The stock price of Kotyark Industries declined by 1.45 percent to Rs 405 at close. Prior to this sale, Shah held around 50.26 percent stake in the company.
