Tragedy in Canada: 22-Year-Old Woman from Gujarat Killed in Knife Attack
A 22-year-old woman from Gujarat's Anand district has been killed in a knife attack in Canada's Niagara region. Vidhi Kalpeshbhai Meghani, who had been living in Canada for four years, was balancing her studies with a part-time job and had reportedly been preparing to apply for Permanent Residency (PR) in Canada.
The incident took place on May 15 in Niagara, where Vidhi was attacked in broad daylight and sustained fatal stab injuries. Canadian police have registered a case and launched a search operation to trace the suspect involved in the attack. The motive behind the murder remains unclear so far, with initial reports suggesting that the attacker may have targeted her during an attempted robbery.
Vidhi's family in Borsad remained unaware of the tragedy for several days. Relatives said they had been unable to contact her since May 16 and initially believed she was away or occupied with work and studies. It was only after officials and police contacted them with details received through diplomatic channels that the family was informed about her death.
