India Caps Monthly Increases in Aviation Turbine Fuel Prices for Domestic Flights
The Indian government announced on Thursday that it will impose a cap on the monthly increases in aviation turbine fuel prices for domestic flights at 25%. This decision is expected to provide relief to passengers from sudden fare hikes.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh welcomed the move, stating that it will help protect passengers from unexpected increases in airfare. The government's decision aims to mitigate the impact of rising fuel prices on the aviation sector.
In a separate development, the government acknowledged that private operators are facing constraints in the supply of auto LPG due to procurement challenges. To address this issue, the government is encouraging dual-feed autos to switch to petrol where possible, in an effort to alleviate the supply constraints.
