Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) Clarifies Recent LCA Tejas Incident

Date: Monday, [current date]

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has dismissed reports of a crash involving the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas, stating that the recent incident was a minor ground technical incident and not an aircraft crash. The company clarified that there has been no reported crash of the LCA Tejas, and the event in question is being analysed in depth as per standard operating procedure.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) had grounded its fleet of around 30 single-seat Tejas jets to conduct extensive technical checks following the incident. According to sources, the pilot had ejected safely, and the aircraft was returning to base after a routine training sortie when the incident occurred.
