Google's Sundar Pichai to Receive Up to $692 Million under New Pay Deal
Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has published a new compensation plan for its CEO, Sundar Pichai, which could make him one of the highest-paid CEOs in the world. According to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing, Pichai could earn up to $692 million over the next three years.
Under the plan, Pichai's annual salary of $2 million will remain unchanged, with the remainder of his compensation paid in the form of Alphabet stock, as well as shares in two subsidiaries: Waymo, an autonomous vehicle company, and Wing, a drone delivery service. The allocation of shares will depend on the performance of the shares and, for Alphabet, on the amount of dividends paid.
The SEC filing suggests that Pichai could receive approximately $130 million from Waymo and $45 million from Wing. In the event of his dismissal, Pichai would forfeit all stock options that are not yet exercisable.
Key Statistics:
- Sundar Pichai's current net worth: $1.5 billion (according to Forbes Real Time Billionaires)
- Pichai's current annual salary: $2 million
- Pichai's potential earnings over three years: up to $692 million
