Ganesh Housing Unveils Rs 15,000 Crore Tech City Project Amid Ahmedabad's Growing GCC Ties
Ganesh Housing Limited Launches Rs 15,000 Crore Integrated Commercial IT SEZ Park and Residential Development in Ahmedabad
Ganesh Housing Limited has unveiled a monumental project, Million Minds Tech City (MMTC), a Rs 15,000 crore integrated commercial IT SEZ Park and residential development in Ahmedabad. The ambitious project aims to position the city as a major destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), technology firms, and innovation-led businesses.
Located along the Ahmedabad-GIFT City-Gandhinagar corridor, the project is expected to generate more than 70,000 high-skilled jobs over the coming years, according to the Ahmedabad-based listed real estate company. The development will be carried out in seven phases, with the first phase being inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on May 17 in Ahmedabad.
The launch of MMTC comes at a time when Indian cities are competing fiercely to attract multinational corporations seeking alternatives to traditional technology hubs such as Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Speaking at the launch, Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized that Gujarat has already established itself as one of India's strongest industrial growth engines, and now the state is moving decisively towards becoming a global hub for technology, innovation, and high-skilled services.
Ganesh Housing Limited has planned the project as a mixed-use development on a "city within a city" concept, spanning nearly 65 acres near Vaishnodevi Circle. The project has an estimated development potential of 18 million square feet.
The development will include around 10 million sq. ft. of Grade-A commercial and technology office space, nearly 6 million sq. ft. of residential projects, and another 2 million sq. ft. dedicated to retail, hospitality, and social infrastructure. Phase 1 of the project, comprising about 1.3 million sq. ft., has already seen leasing activity of nearly 800,000 sq. ft. from companies including IBM, TCS, Valtech, Withum, and Searce.
The project is being developed in partnership with Singapore-based Tishman Speyer as project management partner and RSP Architects as design consultant. Shekhar Patel, Managing Director and CEO of Ganesh Housing and National President of CREDAI, stated that the development would create an ecosystem that will directly and indirectly generate over 70,000 jobs, enable reverse migration of Gujarat's talent pool, and strengthen Ahmedabad's position as a serious destination for global corporations and GCCs.
The project includes plug-and-play offices, co-living spaces, hospitality developments, and employee-focused amenities such as sports facilities, food courts, and recreational zones.
