Fuel Prices Unchanged for May 22: Current Rates for Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata
Fuel Prices Remain Unchanged in India on May 22
Fuel prices across India have remained steady on Friday, May 22, following a marginal increase announced earlier this week by oil marketing companies. This is the third consecutive day that petrol and diesel rates in major cities have held steady since the latest revision.
The latest round of revisions comes in the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's concerns about fuel consumption during his austerity call speech in Hyderabad. Since then, fuel prices have been revised twice. In cities including Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, petrol prices have continued to remain above the Rs 100-per-litre mark.

State-run oil marketing companies - Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited - have assured consumers that fuel and LPG supplies across the country remain stable and uninterrupted. The companies issued separate statements on social media platform X after reports of increased buying activity at some fuel stations.
Indian Oil said that supplies across its nationwide retail network were adequate to meet demand. The company added that teams were coordinating closely to maintain uninterrupted logistics and stock availability, while appealing to consumers not to resort to panic buying.

IOCL noted that while sudden demand shifts had created temporary pressure at a few locations, the situation was being managed effectively. BPCL said it maintained uninterrupted LPG deliveries across the country between May 11 and May 20, ensuring continued supply for households, commercial establishments, and small businesses. HPCL, meanwhile, said fuel availability across Rajasthan, including Jaipur, remained normal with regular replenishment at retail outlets.
