
CPI(M) Releases Candidate List for Kerala Assembly Polls, CM Vijayan to Contest from Dharmadam
CPI(M) Announces Candidates for Kerala State Assembly Election
On April 9, the ruling CPI(M) will contest the state assembly election with a list of 81 candidates, including six party-backed independents. The list was released by M V Govindan, the state secretary of CPI(M).
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will contest from his sitting seat, Dharmadam assembly segment in northern Kannur district. K K Shailaja, a senior leader and former health minister, will contest from Peravoor constituency in Kannur.
The CPI(M)-led LDF is seeking a third consecutive term in the election. The party has fielded 10 of its cabinet colleagues, including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, to contest the election.
