Cockroach Janta Party's X account withheld in India hours after it crossed BJP in Instagram followers with nearly 13 million followers
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) X account was blocked in India just hours after it overtook the BJP in terms of Instagram followers. "As expected, Cockroach Janta Party’s account has been withheld in India" (sp) is what CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke wrote in a post on X. Arundhati Roy, Prashant Bhushan, Dhruv Rathee, Kunal Kamra, and others followed the CJP's X handle, which had over 2 lakh followers.
Before its X account was blocked in India, the satirical political online organization CJP, which first surfaced last week, had over 6 lakh registrations on the internet. But as of the time this article was filed, its Instagram account was still live, with over 12 million followers.
In just four days after its establishment, the CJP gained more than 12 million Instagram followers, officially surpassing the reigning Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). At the time this report was filed on Thursday, the CJP handle had 13 million followers, surpassing the BJP's 8.7 million. The CJP achieved a record-breaking following with 56 posts, while the BJP has maintained its account with over 18,000 postings.
