Bengaluru Banks to Observe Holiday on April 20
Bank Holidays in Karnataka and Across India
Banks in Karnataka, including branches of State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC Bank, and other lenders in Bengaluru, will remain closed today, Monday, 20 April 2026, due to the observance of Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya, as per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar.
Bank branches in other states will remain open unless a separate regional holiday has been notified. The RBI holiday calendar takes into account local festivals, cultural events, and regional observances, resulting in bank holidays that differ from state to state.
