Asian Paints Share Price Surges 4% After Recovering from 52-Week Low: Key Factors Behind the Rally
Asian Paints Shares Rise 4.38% Amid Crude Oil Price Hike
Asian Paints, India's largest paint manufacturer, saw its shares surge 4.38% to ₹2,213.40 on the BSE on Tuesday, March 24. The company's stock had previously hit a 52-week low of ₹2,116 due to concerns over the impact of elevated oil prices on its margins and demand.
Price Hike Announcement
In response to the 6-8% price hike in Brent crude, Asian Paints has announced two phases of price increases. The first phase, effective from April 10, 2026, will affect products such as emulsions, enamels, primers, distempers, and the Neo Bharat range, as well as thinners. A second round of hikes, ranging between 6% and 8%, will come into force from April 21, 2026, covering the rest of the product portfolio.

Market Analysis
Systematix has stated that in the past, Asian Paints has taken staggered price hikes of 2-4% in response to crude price increases. Despite these hikes, volume growth has remained sturdy at 13-14%. The brokerage expects demand to remain stable, with value growth in mid-single digits. Sales in the economy segment have been faster than premium/luxury sales in most regions.
Brent Crude Price Rebound
The rise in Asian Paints stock was also supported by a rebound in Brent crude prices, which fell 11% in the last session. Brent crude prices rose toward $104 a barrel, while the US crude benchmark West Texas Intermediate advanced almost 4%.

Impact on Gross Margins
Systematix estimates that a 10% QoQ increase in crude prices can lead to a 130bps QoQ decline in gross margins. Despite this, Asian Paints maintains a positive pricing power in the current environment, with a target price of ₹3,160.
Investor Takeaway
Asian Paints' share price surge may be influenced by the company's decision to hike prices in response to rising raw material costs.
