Asian Paints CEO Sees Opportunities in Extended Festival Season, Smaller Monsoon
Asian Paints Sees Strong Growth Prospects Amidst Volatile Market
Asian Paints, a leading paint manufacturer, is optimistic about its growth prospects for the upcoming year, driven by a prolonged festival season and the Indian Meteorological Department's forecast of a truncated monsoon season. This favorable outlook may help the company maintain its growth momentum despite a competitive and volatile market environment.
In its latest quarterly results, Asian Paints reported a volume growth of 12.4 percent in the decorative paints business for the March quarter of FY26 and 8.7 percent growth for the full year. The company's managing director and chief executive officer, Amit Syngle, expressed confidence in achieving a similar growth trajectory for the June quarter and the full year, subject to prevailing market conditions.
However, the company may face challenges due to the ongoing global geopolitical tensions, which could lead to a recalibration of inflation levels and impact its input costs. Asian Paints has already witnessed a 20 percent increase in input costs due to the ongoing war in West Asia. To mitigate this impact, the company plans to take a second round of price hikes, following an 11 percent price increase already implemented.
