Amazon's Quick Commerce Service Amazon Now Sees 25 Per Cent Month-on-Month Growth in India
Amazon's e-commerce service Amazon Now is experiencing a significant surge in demand in India, with orders increasing by 25 per cent month-on-month. This growth was revealed by Amazon President and Chief Executive Officer Andy Jassy during the company's first-quarter earnings call for 2026.
Amazon Now offers fast delivery on thousands of items, with delivery times of 30 minutes or less. The service was launched in India last year and has seen a high adoption rate. According to Jassy, Prime members have tripled their shopping frequency once they start using Amazon Now. The service has been successful in India, leading to its expansion globally.
Amazon Now is currently available to tens of millions of customers across nine countries, with plans for further expansion in the pipeline. Despite operating in a highly competitive market, Amazon Now is going head-to-head with established local players such as Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, Flipkart Minutes, and Tata's BigBasket (BB Now).
