Adani Enterprises and Other Group Stocks Rise Up to 3% Following US Withdrawal of Charges Against Gautam Adani
US Drops Charges Against Gautam Adani and Nephew Sagar Adani
Shares of Adani Group companies rallied in morning trade on Tuesday after the US Department of Justice permanently dropped all criminal charges against billionaire Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar Adani. This move effectively brings the high-profile securities and wire fraud case in New York to a close after prosecutors reportedly concluded that the allegations could not be sustained.
The Adani Group's gains were evident in various stocks, with Adani Green Energy rising 3 per cent to Rs 1,410.10, while Adani Enterprises climbed 2.26 per cent to Rs 2,750.60 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Adani Total Gas gained 2.06 per cent to Rs 622.65, whereas Adani Power edged up 0.27 per cent to Rs 219.90.
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone traded marginally higher at Rs 1,792.30, up 0.26 per cent in early deals. This development comes on the heels of several other major US regulatory and legal proceedings involving the Adani Group, which have now been concluded over the past few days.

Last week, the US Securities and Exchange Commission resolved civil allegations against Gautam Adani and Sagar Adani linked to investor disclosures related to solar energy projects in India. According to court filings, Gautam Adani agreed to pay $6 million, while Sagar Adani agreed to pay $12 million, without admitting or denying the allegations.
In another significant development, the Office of Foreign Assets Control settled allegations that the Adani Group had violated US sanctions on Iran through LPG imports. As part of the settlement, the conglomerate agreed to pay $275 million and reportedly extended extensive cooperation during the investigation, including proactive disclosures to authorities.
The latest development, in which federal prosecutors from the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York dropped all criminal charges against Gautam Adani and Sagar Adani, effectively closes the case.
