Adani Airports Partners with IHG to Develop Airport Hotels, 1,500 New Keys to be Added
Adani Airport Holdings Partners with IHG to Develop Five Hotels Across India
Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL), the airport arm of Adani Group, has entered into a managed hotel portfolio agreement with IHG Hotels & Resorts to develop five hotels across airport-linked and urban destinations in India. This move marks the debut of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in the country.
The partnership will add nearly 1,500 rooms across multiple brands, including Kimpton, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express. Discussions are ongoing for additional properties, as per AAHL and IHG. The projects will be developed across Jaipur, Navi Mumbai, Mangaluru, and Thiruvananthapuram, as part of AAHL's broader airport city developments. The portfolio includes a Kimpton hotel and a Holiday Inn in Jaipur, while the remaining properties will be integrated into mixed-use airport-led developments around key aviation hubs operated by AAHL.
This move comes as airport operators increasingly look to monetize large land parcels around airports through hospitality, retail, and commercial real estate projects, amid rising domestic air traffic and tourism demand. GMR Airports, the owner of Delhi and Hyderabad airports, has developed multiple hotels near its flagship Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.

The partnership will strengthen IHG's footprint in India's fast-growing hospitality market, particularly in gateway cities and transit hubs. IHG currently operates 52 hotels across six brands in India and has a pipeline of 98 more hotels over the next three to five years.
| Hotel Brand | Number of Hotels in India | Number of Hotels in Pipeline |
|---|---|---|
| IHG | 52 | 98 |
| Kimpton | N/A | N/A |
| Holiday Inn | N/A | N/A |
| Holiday Inn Express | N/A | N/A |
The move is part of Adani Group's broader expansion into hospitality and airport-led urban infrastructure, with a vision to create world-class destinations that seamlessly integrate travel, stay, and urban experiences.
